Sainik School Sujanpur Tihra stands in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district, a residential school founded on 2 November 1978.
Its guiding motto, “Pursuit of Excellence,” followed us from the classrooms to the parade ground, even on mornings when the blankets argued otherwise.
The campus grew around Sudhir Block, the hostels, cadets’ mess and the broad Chaugan that seemed to hold every match, punishment and victory.
Six hostels named for Himachal’s rivers became our homes, and their corridors carried friendships far beyond the final bell.
NCC, physical training and games were woven into daily life, teaching us to move as one long before we understood what that meant.
Football, hockey, basketball, handball, volleyball and athletics filled the grounds with rivalry, dust and stories that improved with every retelling.
Inside, the library, laboratories and assembly hall gave quieter shape to the same discipline and curiosity.
We arrived as boys in 1991 and left in 1998 as the 14th Batch—Sujanians still, wherever the road has taken us.
